Veteran actor Cesar Montano, the father of young Kapamilya star Diego Loyzaga has come to the defense of his son after the actor was tagged in a mauling incident outside a posh club in Taguig City. According to the 53-year-old Cesar Montano on his official statement sent to ABS-CBN News, he stated that he has already spoken with his son, who denied that he and his friends ganged up on brothers Wilmer Angelo and Wilmer Paolo Lopez.

“Apparently, what happened was a small version of what we used to call back in the day, a rumble,” Montano said. “The moment it ignited, sa sobrang gulo at dami ng tao hindi mo na alam kung sino ang kakampi mo at sino kalaban mo.”

Cesar Montano also narrated that the events leading up to the incident was already patched up but after a few hours commotion broke out where one of the Lopez brother apparently got beaten up.

Based upon the statement of Diego Loyzaga as told to his father, he was a few meters away where the Lopez brothers were beaten up, simultaneously, Diego was trying to protect himself from being hit by flying fists coming from different directions.

The alleged mauling incident became a hot topic in the entertainment industry, as last Wednesday, Wilmer Angelo and Wilmer Paolo, accompanied by their lawyer, filed a complaint at the Taguig Hall of Justice against Diego Loyzaga and several others in connection with the mauling incident.
