PNP Looking for “Arrogant Cop” Who Turned Out to be Fake

The Philippine National Police (PNP) discovered after thorough investigation that the fuming motorist who was caught on video berating and hitting a motorcylce driver in a traffic altercation was not a real officer but a civilian who was identified as Gaylord Santos, a resident of Las PiƱas City.

The fake policeman Gaylord Santos was identified through the plate number-UEQ-399-of the Mitsubishi Adventure he was driving. The vehicle who was also caught on camera was registered in the name of his wife Mary Grace.

According to PNP spokesperson Chief Supt. Wilben Mayor, the PNP Directorate Personnel identified the man and does not have any record as a police officer.

The PNP also noted that they had started looking for Santos so they could sue him for usurpation of authority and violating Executive Order No. 297 which regulates the manufacture, sale, distribution and use of PNP uniforms, insignias and other accoutrements.

Chief Supt. Mayor also urged the motorcycle driver in the viral video to come forward and file complaints against Santos.
