The Pantawid Pamilya Pilipino Program (4Ps) which was often used by the administration party particularly presidential candidates Mar Roxas who boasts that he will continue the program once elected as President is a clear indications that the administration is using the program for its benefits.
The popular 4Ps which was patterned from similar programs in Latin America will continue even if Mar Roxas will not be elected because it is mandated by law. According the director of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Region 10, candidates should not use 4Ps to gain votes.
DSWD-10 regional director Nestor Ramos yesterday said politicians who are seeking seats in government in the May elections should respect the 4Ps beneficiaries’ right to suffrage.
The DSWD Official clarified further that the DSWD or any of its representatives has no right to dictate 4Ps beneficiaries on who they should vote for in the 2016 national elections.
Right now, DSWD Mindanao reported that there are 235,855 4Ps beneficiaries are located in northern Mindanao. The DSWD head also noted that no politicians can change the list of 4Ps beneficiaries unless that beneficiary commits violations as a bonafide 4Ps member.
