Sen. Grace Poe and Vice President Jejomar Binay shared the top spot in the latest presidential preference survey conducted by Pulse Asia for the month of February. In the Vice Presidential race, Sen. Bonbong Marcos and Sen. Chiz Escudero are now statistically tied for the Vice Presidential survey.
According to Pulse Asia, Sen. Grace Poe got 26 percent while Vice President Binay got 25 percent out of the 1,800 respondents from the different parts of the country. Pulse Asia also noted that the margin of error in the latest survey is at ±2 margin of error and 95 percent confidence level.
Aside from Sen. Grace Poe and VP Binay, they were closely followed by social media’s most favorite candidate Mayor Duterte who got 21 percent and tied with Liberal Party standard bearer Mar Roxas who got the same score. Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago ranked fifth with three percent.
In the Vice Presidential race, Sen. Bongbong Marcos continued to gain on Sen. Chiz Escudero as they are now statistically tied in Pulse Asia’s vice presidential poll. Sen. Chiz Escudero got 29 percent of the respondents, while Sen. Marcos was picked by 26 percent.
Ranking third in the Vice presidential candidate is Camarines Sur representative Leni Robredo who got 19 percent while Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano was in fourth place with 12 percent. Sen. Antonio Trillanes got six percent, Sen. Honasan lagged behind in surveys with four percent.
The poll, which was conducted from February 15-20, asked the respondents face-to-face, “Of the people on this list, whom would you vote for as President of the Philippines if the 2016 elections were held today and they were candidates?”
