Wrong Carrot Man Graces “Panagbenga Festival” Grand Float Parade

The “City of Pines,” Baguio City celebrates it’s yearly fiesta, the “Panagbenga Festival,” and one of the highly anticipated event of the festival is the grand float parade. Thousands of people flocked the city on Sunday to witness in person their favorite stars and celebrities but one of the most interesting news is the alleged appearance of carrot man, Jeyrick Sigmaton.

People lined up on downtown Baguio to see the viral carrot man, who became an instant celebrity when netizens went crazy with his overly photogenic photo and he was even featured in various news media organization including national TV stations with their respective coverage of the viral carrot man.

The cheers of some people in Baguio city who eagerly awaits the appearance of carrot man, Jeyrick Sigmaton turns to groans when they saw a float glide by a man in gray hooded sweatshirt carrying a huge vegetable basket called “kayabang” on his shoulders.

The man was not the expected carrot man, Jeyric Sigmaton, the vegetable from Barlig town in Mountain province but it was a fake or the wrong carrot man gracing the event.

Jeyric Sigmaton is more popularly known as the “carrot man” became an overnight celebrity when some of his photos carrying a “tiklis” filled with carrots went viral on social media. He was even dubbed as the Philippine version of some Korean actors namely Lee Min Ho, Jang Keun Suk, and Jerry Yang of F4.
