Sen. Bongbong Marcos Unfazed by the Moves to Thwart Him from Winning

One of the country’s most reliable senator, Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., the namesake of the late most productive president in the Philippines, Pres. Ferdinand Marcos revealed to the media that he is not worried with the moves of his political opponent to thwart him from winning the Vice Presidential race in 2016.

Sen. Bongbong Marcos remained unfazed by the moves against him, he just noted that he had already expected and accepted it, as part of the political process.

In an interview during Sen. Marcos campaign sortie in Cagayan Valley he was quoted as saying “Like any other candidate, there are people who are opposing. So, that’s not surprising. All candidates have critics so that’s also part of the process of campaigning, that’s why it’s not unexpected,” the senator said.

Sen. Bongbong Marcos was targeted by a group of Martial Law victims that launched a movement called “Campaign Against the Return of the Marcoses to Malacanang (Carmma) to oppose the candidacy of the son of the most productive president in the country, the late Pres. Ferdinand E. Marcos.

According to Sen. Marcos, for those who opposed his vice presidential bid and his critics should let the electorate decide on who they would vote for in the coming May 2016 national elections.

The former governor of Ilocos Norte, took his campaign to one of his bailiwick in Cagayan wherein he went to Basilica Minore in Piat town to seek the blessings of the venerated Our Lady of Piat, which is said to be miraculous, to guide him in whatever path he takes.

When asked what he prayed for, the senator said: “My prayer always is to be shown the way and that we follow the way and follow God’s will and whatever that is, we ask Him to guide us.”
