Demie Fresco, the newest champion of the top-rating and Twitter trending singing competition on noontime TV, “Tawag ng Tanghalan” on It’s Showtime brought tears to comedian Vice Ganda on Monday afternoon after she staged a heartfelt performance of the song “Ngayon Bukas at Kailanman.”
The 18-year-old music student who hails from Sultan Kudarat, is currently studying at a music school in Metro Manila. During the championship round wherein she performed the song of Sheryn Regis’ “Follow Your Dream,” she was able to dethroned the defending champion Claire Anne Yongco.
According to the aspiring singer from Mindanao, she wants to continue the dream of her grandmother which is to become a professional musician. Right after the performance of the young aspiring singer, Vice Ganda immediately congratulated her.
Guest judge Nyoy Volante on his part commended Demie Fresco for her music knowledge. He was quoted as saying “One thing is for sure: Alam mo ang ginagawa mo. Sobrang alam mo ang ginagawa mo sa lahat ng aspects. Sa quality ng boses, kung paano mo gamitin, ‘yong dynamics mo, at tsaka style. Ang galing e,” he said.
Judge Yeng Constantino, meanwhile, noted that Fresco’s voice is perfect for recording. “Ang ganda mong panoorin, ang sarap mong pakinggan. Kulang na lang, album. Sa totoo lang,” she said.
