Viral: What Can You Say About This “Binay” Sign ala Hollywood on Banaue Rice Terraces

Vice President Jejomar Binay is considered as one of the most popular candidates especially among majority of Filipinos in far-flung areas, as a sign of their trust to the presidential candidate, one of his supporter put up a “Binay” sign on the world-famous Banaue Rice Terraces.

The “Binay” sign is currently making the rounds online as netizens who were non-Binay supporters disagrees with the decision of the owner to put up a sign on Banaue Rice Terraces somewhat similar to the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles, California.

The sign already caught up the attentions of residents and tourists in Ifugao, one of the countries most famous destinations because of its beauty and engineering marvel. The 2,000-year-old Banaue Rice Terraces were carved into the mountains of Ifugao by the ancestors of the indigenous people, the world-renowned site is also referred as the “Eighth Wonder of the World.”

In a news report posted by ABS-CBN, the sign was made out of the stitched-up sacks and was put up in the mountains of Barangay Bocos by 66-year-old Henry Limahong, who claims to be a supporter of VP Binay. According to Limahong he does not personally know VP Binay nor was told by anyone to construct the sign but he noted that the sign was constructed inside his private property.
