Social medias most popular presidential candidate Mayor Rodrigo Duterte of Davao City finally changed his mind as he decided to attend the presidential debate sponsored by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) for the 2016 national elections.

The change of heart of the 70-year-old Mayor Duterte came after the good news received by his camp that all the disqualification cases were junked by the Comelec and he is now an official presidential candidate of the PDP-Laban party, one of the country’s most prominent political party that already produced a president, former Pres. Cory Aquino.
During a farmer’s forum at the University of the Philippines, earlier this month, the Davao City mayor revealed that he would not attend the presidential debates until the Comelec had resolved his cases, three disqualification cases were filed against Mayor Duterte because of the clerical error found on Martin Dino’s COC which Duterte substituted.
Mayor Duterte changed his mind and promised to attend the presidential debate after he received the ruling of the Comelec that he is now an official candidate and the disqualification cases were all junked. The good news was received by Mayor Duterte during his visit to his national headquarters along Edsa in Greenhils, San Juan, Metro Manila.
Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is runing on a platform of moving the Philippines toward a federal system of government, wiping out criminals and eliminating corruptions in government. The Mayor even told the media that he can deliver and do his promise. He also noted that Davao City is the witness of how he changed the government’s current system.
