Viral Video: Austrian Blogger & Backpacker Rides PAL Flight Solo to Boracay

A backpacker and a well-known Austrian blogger identified as Alex Simon was considered as one of the luckiest person in the world after he fly with Philippine Airlines Flight to Boracacy solo. The 28-year-old blogger was the only passenger who showed up for the Flight from Manila to Boracay after no one else booked a ticket.

In a news report posted by DailyMail, one of Europe’s leading website, the Austrian backpacker filmed a video showing the empty seats behind him and even took time to visit the cockpit to talk to the pilots before the take-off.

Although the original video was first posted on YouTube on February 2015, the said video just went viral recently when it was reported by DailyMail recently.

In an interview with DailyMail, Alex Simon stated “When I arrived to the airport I just heard my name on the speaker, ‘Sir Alexander Simon, please come to [information],’” Simon was quoted as saying. “So the lady explained to me that I don’t need to wait two more hours on my connecting flight, we’re gonna start in 30 minutes because there are no more passengers except me.”

“I was [a] little bit surprised and I couldn’t believe it. I thought I was dreaming. Later while boarding I just realized that it’s gonna be a special flight because this time I didn´t even need to line up. I took my seat then I asked the flight attendant lady if I can sit next to the window. She just answered, ‘You can sit anywhere, because you’re the [only] passenger,” he added.

According to the Austrian blogger Alex Simon a staff member from PAL told him that flights to Boracay are “usually packed.”
