The NBA champion Golden State Warriors will be represented by a total of three players in the highly anticipated NBA All Stars after Draymond Green and Klay Thompson were picked on Thursday for the Western Conference Team playing alongside NBA MVP Stephen Curry. It will be the first time after 40 years in the league that the Warriors will be represented with three players.
Draymond Green and Klay Thompson were picked Thursday for the Western Conference team. They will be joined by Sacramento’s DeMarcus Cousins, Houston’s James Harden, San Antonio’s LaMarcus Aldridge, the Clippers’ Chris Paul and New Orleans’ Anthony Davis.
The NBA All Star Game will be held this coming February 14 game in Toronto, Canada. In the East reserves, Raptor’s DeMar DeRozan will represent the home team and is joined by fellow East reserves Chicago’s Jimmy Butler, Detroit’s Andre Drummond, Miami’s Chris Bosh, Washington’s John Wall, Atlanta’s Paul Millsap and Boston’s Isaiah Thomas.
According to the NBA’s announcement the All Star reserves were selected by the head coaches in each conference, who had to vote for seven players: two guards, three frontcourt players and two additional players at any position. They were not allowed to vote for players from their own team.
Warriors Draymond Green made it to the NBA All Star for the first time while Klay Thompson made the line up for the second year in a row. Alongside starter Stephen Curry, the Warriors will be represented by three players for the first time since the time of Rick Barry, Phil Smith and Jamaal Wilkes in 1976.
