The army officer who made a viral post about his experience at a VIP airport lounge will face a libel case filed against him by the Korean operator of the said establishment. The army officer identified as 1Lt. Ryan Layug accused the management of the lounge of discriminating against Filipinos.
Although the army officer will face libel case, the Domabem Corp., the Korean operator of the VIP Airport Lounge in Kalibo will drop the complaints against Layug once he will issue a public apology to the company as clarified by the company’s legal counsel Rowena Mae Mencias.
According to the legal counsel of the VIP Airport Lounge, they will file the libe case this week in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act against Layug for posting on his Facebook page “malicious and false accusations” against the lounge’s management.
The company will also file oral defamation and slander by deed complaints against Layug before the Aklan Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
1Lt. Layug is an executive officer of Bravo Company of the Philippine Army’s 30th Infantry Batallion deployed in Surigao del Norte. He earlier accused the management of the VIP Airport Lounge of refusing him services on January 1, because the lounge catered purportedly only for Koreans.
IF HE APOLOGIES , HE IS ADMITTING FAULTS, IT WILL GO AGAINST HIM EITHER, DAMN IF YOU DO, DAMN IF YOU DON’T SEEK ADVICE, KOREAN LAWS MIGHT BE DIFFERENT TO PHILIPPINE LAW
