United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) standard bearer, Vice President Jejomar Binay and his camp has pointed to the Liberal Party (LP) as the source of the boos that were heard during the formal opening of the Sinulog Grand Parade inside the Cebu City Sports Center on Sunday.
According to VP Binay’s spokesperson Joey Salgado who tagged the members of the LP contingent, they have received reports that boos came from the LP contingent. Salgado said that the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) knew that LP felt bad that Binay was leading in the presidential survey even in the Visayas.
The reports that the boos came from the contingent of the Liberal Party, a Cebu Provincial officer said that the contingent from the administration party was still outside the sports center when the Vice President was booed.
The governor of Cebu Province, Gov. Hilario Davide III a well-known LP ally in the Visayas together with some LP senatorial candidates were still outside the sports center when the booing happened.
Although the Cebu governor was not present on stage during the controversial booing of VP Binay, Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale, Davide’s running mate was on stage with the Vice President.
