The newest viral sensation online, the taxi driver who allegedly overcharged a passenger was summoned by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulator Board (LTFRB) on Monday after a passenger accused him of not only overcharging but also swearing.
According to LTFRB’s show-cause order, the board directed the operator of Premium Taxi Premium Transportation Corp. and the cab driver, Rolando Camara.
The alleged driver and his operator needs to explain in writing within five days why their franchise should not be cancelled or suspended, based on the complaint posted online by Hannah Quiwa.
The LTFRB also summoned both Camara and the operator to a hearing on the incident at the agency’s office on Jan. 20.
The incident of swearing and overcharging was revealed on social media in a January 8, 2016 post of Facebook user Hannah Quiwa who accused Camara of being offensive, rude and reckless when she and her young sister and their niece rode Camara’s taxi (AAO 7317) on December 28 to get t Robinson’s Galleria.
