For the information of everybody, some netizens noted that the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino was not a brainchild of the Aquino administration but one of the project started by former Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Based upon the history of 4Ps, the program is under the implementation of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), the program was patterned from the conditional cash transfer system from developing countries particular in Brazil and Mexico.

The DSWD pre-pilot tested the 4Ps program in the municipalities of Sibagat and Esperanza in Agusan del Sur; municipalities of Lopez Jaena and Bonifacio in Misamis Occidental, the Caraga Region; and the cities of Pasay and Caloocan in 50 million pesos budget.

Some netizens noted that the program 4Ps will continue to flourished no matter who will be the next president of the Philippines and using such tactic that the program will be discontinued once Mar Roxas will not be elected is just another hoax.

According to the website of the DSWD, here’s the objectives of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino:

Pantawid Pamilya helps to fulfill the country’s commitment to meet the Millennium Development Goals, namely:

  1. Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger
  2. Achieve Universal Primary Education
  3. Promote Gender Equality
  4. Reduce Child Mortality
  5. Improve Maternal Health
