According to COMELEC, their decision will be swift on the disqualification case against Mayor Duterte in order for him to give time for the case to be brought to the Supreme Court of the Philippines.

Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon was quoted as saying “Our objective is to settle this at the best possible time so it can be elevated to the Supreme Court,” Commissioner Rowena Guanzon told the Inquirer.

The commissioner added further “To be fair to the candidate, the case should be resolved immediately,” she said.

According to the disqualification case filed against PDP-Laban official candidate Mayor Duterte, he was allegedly not a bona fide candidate to substitute presidential bet Martin since the latter’s certificate of candidacy for President was materially defective and is, therefore, invalid.
