Star Wars: The Force Awakens Earned $1 Billion in Just 12 Days

The movie “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” made another record anew as the movie zoomed past the $1 billion mark in just 12 days of showing. The achievement of Star Wars in terms of box office earnings is now considered as the fastest global sales ever recorded in film history.

Star Wars broke the previous record set by “Jurasic World” which surged past the $1 billion mark in 13 days of showing globally.

According to some box office experts, the movie is on the road to being the top movie of all time at the box office as it can easily reach the $3-4 billion mark in the next few days.

The Christmas day box office office of the movie was also high based upon the data from various cinemas not only in the US but also internationally. The film already achieved a huge box office earnings despite the absence of the second biggest film market in the world, China.

The producers of the movie revealed that they will open the movie “Star Wars” this coming January 9th in major cities of China.

The movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens is directed, co-produced and co-written by J.J. Abrams. It is considered as the seventh installment of the epic space opera film featuring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley and John Boyega to name a few.
