The 26-year-old Pia Wurtzbach was supposed to wear an evening gown from the Philippines bud due to Bagyong Nona, the flight of Albert Andrada to the USA was cancelled last Tuesday.
To save the day for the Philippine representative, the mentor of Pia Wurtzbach, Jonas Gaffud, went to his backup plan and contacted Los Angeles-based Filipino designer Oliver Tolentino who responded immediately despite the fact that he was on vacation.
The designer immediately instructed his staff to rush several gowns to Las Vegas after receiving the news. The immediate response of the world-renowned designer saved the day for the Philippines.
The Miss Universe 2015 beauty pageant coronation night will be held this coming December 20, 2015 (December 21 Manila Time) at The AXIS, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. Miss Universe 2014 title-holder Miss Paulina Vega of Colombia will crown her successor at the end of the event.
