Bagyong Nona Storm Signals and Hourly Updates (December 14, 2015)

Bagyong Nona (international name Melor) maintained its strength according to PAGASA’s latest weather bulletin released by the weather bureau early morning of December 14, 2015. PAGASA already released the Public Storm Warning Signals in various parts of the country which will be affected by the latest weather disturbance to hit the Philippines.

The weather bureau which previously named Bagyong Nona as Bagyong Nonoy noted that the typhoon was predicted to pass very close to Northern Samar by early Monday afternoon, then make landfall over Sorsogon in the evening.

Bagyong Nona will then cross the Albay Province and headed for Burias Island. According to PAGASA as of 4 a.m., Nona was 205 kms east of Catarman, Northern Samar, and was moving westwards at 17 kph.

Nona had maximum winds of 150 kph and gusts of up to 185 kph. Estimated rainfall amount within the typhoon’s 300 km diameter was from heavy to at times intense.

  • southern Quezon, and
  • Leyte.

  • Metro Manila,
  • Oriental Mindoro,
  • Occidental Mindoro including Lubang Island,
  • Batangas,
  • Cavite,
  • Rizal,
  • Laguna,
  • the rest of Quezon including Polillo Island,
  • Southern Leyte,
  • Northern Cebu including the Bantayan and Camotes Islands,
  • Aklan,
  • Capiz,
  • northern Negros Occidental,
  • Dinagat province, and
  • Siargao Island
