Mayor Duterte Leads Presidential Survey Conducted by SWS

The Social Weather Station, one of the most prominent survey organization in the country conducted a nationwide survey in the last week of November and revealed the results to the media. According to the latest survey results, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte emerged as the top choice for President.

The SWS survey noted that Mayor Duterte is the top choice of voters in all socioeconomic cl(–foul word(s) removed–) and majority of geographic areas. The survey results commissioned by an unknown businessman was released on Monday as the Mayor was favored by 38 percent of voters while former survey frontrunner VP Binay and Sen. Grace Poe placed second with 21 percent.

Former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas was placed at No. 4 spot with 15 percent while Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago ranked last by scoring just 4 percent in the latest SWS survey.

According to SWS, the survey had 1,200 respondents, and a margin of error of plus or minus three percentage points at the national level and plus or minus 6 percentage points at the regional level.

Mayor Duterte is considered as the top choice among voters in the National Capital Region (48%), Visayas (44%) and Mindanao (50%). The tough-talking and often controversial mayor also dominated voter preference among the upper and middle cl(–foul word(s) removed–), scoring 62 percent. Forty-six points behind him was Binay with 16 percent, followed by Poe with 13 percent.
