Watch: Filipinos in Italy Dismayed by Pres. Aquino’s Speech Hitting Political Opponents

Numerous Filipinos took to social media to air their frustration against President Benigno Aquino III during his speech before the Filipino community in Rome, Italy. The President took an apparent swipe at the opponents of the administrations particularly against presidentiables Sen. Grace Poe, VP Binay, Sen. Santiago, Mayor Duterte and Vice Presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos.

During the speech of Pres. Aquino he noted that Filipinos should carefully choose the right successor who will sustain the gains of his administration.

Although the President did not name the opposition candidates whom he was referring to, Pres. Aquino clearly hinted about a presidentiable who is facing graft and plunder cases which probably refers to Vice President Jejomar Binay.

The President also mentioned a candidate who promises to do more than what his adminisration accomplished but asks how this candidate achieve those promises. Some analysts noted if refers to no less than Sen. Grace Poe who is not yet ripe for presidency.

Pres. Aquino also attack Mayor Duterte whom he refers as the candidate who wants to kill while the other candidate promised to win via her social media campaign which refers to Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago. The President was quoted as saying “Ang isa, dadaanin lang daw basta ang kampanya sa social media. Siguro po, hindi siya mulat na hindi ka makakapagpatayo ng kalsada at makakapagpakain ng nagugutom gamit lang ang Facebook.”
