Fil-Am Amy Vachal Advanced to the Semis (Top 9) of “The Voice” USA (Video)

One of the few Filipino who made international headlines through various singing competition, Filipino-American singer Amy Vachal advanced to the semifinal round of “The Voice” in the United States after getting enough votes from the American public to seal her spot in the competition’s Top 9.

During the announcement of the Top 9 on Tuesday (Wednesday morning Manila time), it was revealed the Braiden Sunshine and Korin Bukowski got the lowest number of votes among the Top 10 of The Voice US.

During the survival night, Bukowski sang Colbie Caillat’s “Try,” while Sunshine performed Maroon 5’s “Harder to Breathe.” The American public then decided to save Braiden Sunshine and sent Korin Bukowski home.

Aside from Vachal and Sunshine, the other contestants who made it to Top 9 are Emily Ann Robertson, Jordan Smith, Jeffery Austin, Barrett Baber, Madi Davis, Zach Seabaugh and Shelby Brown.

According to the announcement of “The Voice USA,” next week the contestants will be cut from nine contestants to four finalists.
