The Far Eastern University Tamaraws made an impressive run and held off another spirited comeback from the UST Growling Tigers to clinch the Game 1 of the UAAP Men’s Basketball Best-of-three championship series. The Tamaraws is now one win away from the title as they defeated the Tigers on Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
FEU Tamaraws dominated the UST Tigers in the final period of the game and ended their Game 1 Finals battle with the final score of 75-64.
The former title contender last year, FEU led by as much as 14 in the first half before the top-seed UST Tigers came roaring back and even took the lead. The Tamaraws bounced back and made an impressive 12-0 run late in the fourth to turn a 61-62 deficit into a 73-62 edge with under a minute left in the final quarter.
The FEU Tamaraws won for the very first time against the UST Growling Tigers in the UAAP Men’s basketball this season. The Game 2 of the FEU vs. UST Championship series will resumed on Saturday, November 28, 2015.
