The Filipino-Australian singer Cyrus Villanueva made it to the grand finals of Australia’s most popular singing competition, The X Factor Australia. During the Tuesday’s episode of the show, it was revealed the Cyrus Villanueva is one of the three finalists in the singing competition.
The 19-year-old Cyrus Villanueva joins three other finalists which include singing duo Jess & Matt and former band vocalist Louise Adams. Big T was the last eliminated singer from the competition after his performance of Meghan Trainnor’s “Marvin Gaye” and Procol Harum’s “Whiter Shade of Pale.”
On Monday, the Fil-Aussie singer Cyrus Villanueva made an impressive performance garnering accolades and appreciations from his fans and the show’s judges even receiving a standing ovation from the judges of The X Factor Australia.
Cyrus Villanueva performed the song “In The Air Tonight” who was popularized by Phil Collins and the song that electrified the crown was Cyrus rendition of Ed Sheeran’s song “Don’t.”
The teen singer wrote the following message on his official Twitter account right after the announcement that he made it to the grand finals. He tweeted “I had the best time tonight, and feel so blessed for everyone’s response! THANKYOU all,” the teen wrote on his Twitter page afterwards.
Should Villanueva go on to win “The X Factor Australia,” it would mark a back-to-back wins for singers with Filipino blood in the competition after 16-year-old Marlisa Punzalan won the title last year.
