One of the most popular Kapamilya actress nowadays, Nadine Lustre revealed to the media that she is willing to portray the role of the iconic Filipina superheroine, Darna after she topped a recent online survey on who should replace Angel Locsin as Darna.
The “On The Wings of Love” star expressed her willingness during an interview with ABS-CBN’s MJ Felipe who noted that it would be a “privilege” to put on the Darna costume, which has been worn by several big name celebrities in the country, the most popular among them is no other than Batangas governor Vilma Santos.
The 22-year-old Nadine Lustre was quoted as saying during the interview “Of course I want, gusto ko po siyempre kasi Darna ‘yun, ‘di ba? It’s a privilege na maging Darna ka. Bigyan nila ako ng gym time, bigyan nila ako ng time mag-train,” the actress said.
James Reid the on-screen partner of Nadine Lustre added further that If Nadine will be Darna, then he could be the Captain Barbell.
The movie outfit of ABS-CBN, Star Cinema, the producer of the highly anticipated Darna movie, have yet to make a formal announcement on the matter on who will play the role of Darna after Angel Locsin had to back out of the project due to a health problem.
