Celebrity fashion stylist Liz Uy, is set to file a total of six (6) libel and slander cases against popular gossip blogger Michael Sy Lim, the man behind the blog Fashion Pulis. The case of Liz Uy against Michael Sy Lim was filed on Monday, November 9, 2015 at the City Prosecutor in Makati City.
In a report posted by Rappler, Liz Uy’s complaints are being filed over two blog posts by Michael Sy Lim about Maine Mendoza’s gown which was tagged by the blogger as “recycled.” The said gown was worn by Maine Mendoza or Yaya Dub during the AlDub Tamang Panahon event at the Philippine Arena.
Aside from the blog post on Fashion Pulis, Liz Uy is also filing libel cases against Michael Sy Lm’s posts on micro-blogging site Twitter.
The controversial post of Fashion Pulis went viral on social media, where many of the commenters on the posts criticized Liz Uy for letting Maine Mendoza wear clothes that have been worn before.
Fashion Pulis blogger Michael Sy Lim posted a photo of Maine Mendoza on October 29, with the captioned “Stylist Makes Maine Mendoza Wear Recycled Gown on Historical TV Show,” which shows a picture of actress Kim Chiu and Maine Mendoza wearing the same Francis Libiran gown at different events.
