The controversial “laglag bala” or “tanim bala” incident at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and the handling of the administration of Pres. Aquino with the said case may force Mayor Rodrigo to change his mind and will finally decide to run for President of the Philippines in the 2016 national elections.
NAIA authorities consistently denied their involvement with the controversial “laglag bala” issue at the NAIA but the national government already ordered an investigation by the NBI with the said controversial incidents victimizing OFW’s and other other travelers in the country.
In an interview with Sun Star Davao, Mayor Duterte stated that the government has failed to protect the welfare of its its people and added that this might change his current decision not to run to finally heed the call of the m(–foul word(s) removed–) and the millions of OFWs who wants him to lead the country.
Mayor Duterte was quoted as saying “The government has failed to protect the welfare of its people,” Duterte said, adding that this might change his current decision to run. “I said that I don’t have the ambition to be a president pero kung ing-ana ilang padagan puro daug-daug, binuang na na (if the way they run government is to oppress the people, that’s crazy),” Duterte said.
The tough-talking and often controversial mayor of Davao City also made an appel to President Aquino to make drastic moves to solve the laglag bala problem inside NAIA and noted that he never asked for any favor in exchange for his support, except this one.
Mayor Duterte was considered as one of of the most popular politician who supported the Aquino-Roxas tandem during the 2010 national elections.
