Kean Cipriano, the lead vocalist of Callalilly won the third week in one of the country’s most popular show, “Your Face Sounds Familiar” on Sunday night with his impressive impersonation of “The King of Philippine Movies,” Fernando Poe Jr.
The 28-year-old Kean Cipriano performed the popular song “Kumusta Ka.” The show’s judges Gary Valenciano, Boy Abunda and Sharon Cuneta praised Kean Cipriano for the respect he showed to the late Fernando Poe Jr.
Gary Valenciano was quoted as saying “Sineryoso mo ‘yung pag-impersonate mo kay FPJ. It may have added to the performance, ‘yung respect na pinakita mo,” Valenciano said.
Judge Boy Abunda also added that “Ito yung tipong performance na you worked so hard at how you were impersonating. What was amazing para sa akin, ‘yung aura. That was impersonation of a different kind but that was impersonation at its best. And as a talent, you’re a great talent.”
Judge Sharon Cuneta, who was a very close friend to the late action superstar, turned emotional during Kean Cipriano’s performance, she even joined the impersonator singing some lines of her favorite song with the late actor.
Kean Ciprino was declared as the winner of “Your Face” third week and he noted that he will be donating a portion of this week’s winnings to Hero Foundation.
