The country’s weather bureau, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned the Filipino public that Severe Tropical Storm Jenny (Dujuan) kept its strength as it continued to move slowly on Friday morning.
Bagyong Jenny was last spotted by PAGASA forecasters at 1,120 kilometers east of Calayan Island in Cagayan. The storm packed maximum sustained wings of 95 kilometers per hour and gusts of up to 120 kph.
The latest weather disturbance affecting the country, Bagyong Jeny moved west northwest at 7 kph. PAGASA warned the fishermen to avoid the eastern seaboards of Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Aside from Bagyong Jenny which will cause moderate to heavy rains within the 600 kilometer diameter of the storm, the southwest monsoon will continue to affect Visayas and Mindanao areas according to the latest weather bulletin released by PAGASA.
