The hashtag #ABSCBNSaySorryToUPLB became one of the hottest trending topics on Twitter as students retweeted and made mention of the open letter posted by the Student Union of the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) on Saturday.

According to UPLB’s Open Letter to the Kapamilya Channel they demands apology from ABS-CBN News on alleged unethical journalism covering Vice President Jejomar Binay’s open forum at UPLB last Tuesday, September 15.

The Open Letter of UPLB trended on microblogging site Twitter on Saturday with the hashtag #ABSCBNSaySorryToUPLB topped the Twitter trending topics in the Philippines. Based upon the Open Letter of UPLB, the TV Network’s News and Current Affairs accused students of UPLB of shouting “trapo: before VP Binay started his speech as posted by ABS-CBNNews.com Facebook Page.

Although the caption has already been updated by ABS-CBN, the original words were: “LISTEN: UPLB students shout ‘trapo’ as Vice President Binay starts his forum yesterday. And the vice president’s reaction? Watch.”

Due to the controversial caption made by ABS-CBN some misinformed netizens commented negatively against the institutions.

LISTEN: Here's how Vice President Binay's open forum at UPLB started yesterday. His reaction? Watch.(CORRECTION: An earlier version of this post said, "UPLB students shout "trapo" as Vice President Binay starts his open forum yesterday."
