Jovit’s Producer Claimed the Singer Had Permission to Sing “Pusong Bato”

Jovit Baldivino made headlines earlier after veteran singer Wency Cornejo posted a viral message on Facebook criticizing the younger singer for his lack of respect but contrary to the claims of the former After Image singer, the producer of Jovit claimed that he had permission to perform “Pusong Bato” at a show in General Santos City.

Wency Cornejo earlier criticized Jovit Baldivino for singing the OPM classic despite being told that the song’s original singer, Renee “Alon” dela Rosa, was also part of the show’s list of acts.

According to one of the show’s producers, Labangal Barangay Chairman Lorelie Pacquiao, the three signers were part of the annual Kagatbu Festival last September 7, 2015.

In an official statement read on online talk show “Korek Ka John,” the show’s producer was quoted as saying “Una sa lahat, taos puso kaming nag papa-salamat sa lahat ng mga performers na dumalo sa Kagatbu Festival celebration…Lalung-lalo na po kina Jovit, Marcelito, Alon and Wency,” she said.

“Naging successful po ang show, personal pong nag paalam si Jovit kay Alon sa backstage para kantahin anng ‘Pusong Bato’ at pumayag naman po si Alon at sabi niya wala pong problema.”

“Hindi rin po nagkita si Jovit at si Wency sa event. Sana po matapos na po ang issue na ito. Maraming salamat po,” she said.

The producers clarified that Jovit Baldivino got the permission of the original singer of “Pusong Bato,” to perform the song during the event.
