Veteran singer and former After Image vocalist Wency Cornejo criticized former Pilipinas Got Talent champion Jovit Baldivino for his supposed lack of respect to the original singer of the popular “Pusong Bato” during a scheduled performance at Labangal, General Santos City.
Wency Cornejo took to Facebook on his official account to narrate the entire incident wherein he claimed that the 21-year-old Jovit Baldivino sang Renee Dela Rosa’s “Pusong Bato” despite being told otherwise.
The After Image singer wrote: “”Nag show ako kagabi sa Labangal, Gensan. Nakakalungkot isipin na may mga performer katulad ni Jovit Baldovino na hindi marunong rumespeto sa mas nakakatandang musiko.”
“Hindi man ganun kasikat, kung ang nagsulat at orihinal na nag record ng awitin ay kasama mo sa isang show, hindi mo dapat unahang kantahin ang awitin nya.”
“Kahit pinakiusapan na hindi pa rin sya pumayag na huwag kantahin. It just goes to show, it is very hard to teach humility, respect and class,” he added.
A few hours after the post of Wency Cornejo went viral on Facebook, he called on his fans to refrain from “name-calling and bashing” Jovit Baldivino.
Jovit Baldivino has yet to post a reply on any of his official social media account but based upon his latest post on Instagram, the singer was in fact having a show in General Santos City hours before Cornejo’s post on Facebook.
