Pres. Aquino’s SONA 2015 Highlights & Live Coverage (July 27, 2015)

The President of the Republic of the Philippines will deliver his sixth and final State of the Nation Address today, July 27, 2015 in front of the joint session of the Philippine Congress and to millions of Filipinos watching through national TV coverage and through online facilities.

SONA Higlights

Pres. Benigno S. Aquino III will face the Filipino public and the members of the third Regular Session of the 16th Congress of the Republic of the Philippines. The President will report to his “bosses” his accomplishments, achievements and plans for the last year as head of the Republic of the Philippines.

According to some political analysts, President Aquino is expected to highlight the accomplishments of his administration, the results of his promises during the last SONA in 2014 and his plans for his final year as President under his “Daang Matuwid” program.

In an earlier interview with Malacanang, Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. stated that Pres. PNoy will emulate her late mother Cory Aquino who looked back at history during his final SONA in July 22, 1991.

The administration also noted that Filipinos will learn a lot Pres. Aquino’s highly anticipated speech, the SONA 2015 which will serve as guide in facing the future of the country.

During the SONA 2015, the administration’s allies and critics are also expecting that the President will declare the candidates for the two highest positions in the country for the 2016 national elections.
