Three members of Team Sarah Geronimo competed against each other in the highly anticipated Battle Rounds of The Voice of the Philippines Season 2 which started on Saturday night July 17, 2015. Young singers Francis Lim, Gift Cerna and Alyssa Terese Celo performed the song “Pyramid” during the Battle Rounds.
Right after the performance of the three aspiring young singers, Broadway star Lea Salonga was impressed with the performance and was quoted as saying “You guys are awesome! Parang pantay-pantay talaga ‘yung pag-group sa inyo,” Broadway star Lea Salonga but she picked Celo as the singer who stood out in the performance.
Former Riveramaya frontman and the Philippines rock icon, Bamboo on his part decided to chose Francis Lim to proceed to the next round which was also agreed by Coach Sarah who has the final say on who among the three will proceed to the Sing-Offs.
Francis Lim became the first member of Team Sarah to move on to the sing-off round of The Voice Kids PH Season 2.
According to the latest announcement from The Voice of the Philippines Kids Edition Season 2, there will be no steal option this season, the coaches will have only one chance to save their young artist.
Coach Sarah was given the privilege to select one artist from their group of official 18 artists who passed the blind audition and they need to perform in the Battles.
After the Battle Rounds of The Voice Kids PH season 2, the Top 6 artists will be featured in the Sing-Offs, which will cut down the team to its final 2 artists. During the Saturday’s edition of the show, the hashtags ‘#TVK2Battles’ dominated the Twitter trending topics both in the Philippines and worldwide.
“The Voice Kids,” which is hosted by Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo and Yeng Constantino, airs Saturdays at 6:45 p.m. and Sundays at 7:30 p.m.
