The last and final State of the Nation Address of President Benigno Aquino III will happen this coming Monday, July 27, 2015, with this huge event, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) came out with its traffic rerouting plan in Quezon City.
According to MMDA’s announcement on Wednesday, at around 3:00 AM this coming Monday, the stretch of Commonwealth Avenue northbound from Ever Gotesco to St. Peter Church will be closed to traffic.
The MMDA also noted that the zipper lane will be opened at the southbound lane of Congressional Avenue from Jocfer Building to the Commission on Audit for northbound vehicles.
MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino also advised that motorists should avoid the affected areas and take the following alternate routes to avoid inconveniences:
*** Along North Avenue, take Mindanao Avenue, turn right to Quirino Highway to destination and vice versa.
*** Along Edsa, turn right to Congressional Avenue, turn left to Mindanao Avenue, turn right to Old Sauyo Road, straight to Don Julio Gregorio and Republic Avenue, turn left to Chestnut, turn right to Dahlia Avenue, turn left to Fairlane or Regalado Avenue to destination and vice versa.
The MMDA also announced that they will deploy 1,200 personnel composed of teams to manage both vehicular and pedestrian traffic and support the operations of the National Capital Region Police Office and the Quezon City Police District.
