The highly anticipated last State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Benigno Simeon C. Aquino III will cost the national government’s budget for catering at around P2 to 2.5 million according to the statement released by the Secretary General of the House of Representatives.
Pres. Aquino’s SONA for the year 2015 will take place on Monday, July 27, 2015 and during the event each guest may partake of P700 worht of food and drinks.
For the traditional cocktails intended for the diplomatic corps and other officials at the South Wing, the Secretary General noted that they expect between 700 to 800 guests and the budget is P700 per cover, which means the amount needed for food and beverage served for each guest.
The Secretary General of the House of Representatives, Marily Barua-Yap explained that the SONA will be special but not particularly lavish. According to the Secretary General, the House protocol office picked the caterer center Table to provide food to members of the diplomatic corps and other officials.
The House session hall can accommodate a maximum of 2,750 people. Yap said invitations had already been sent to more than 2,700 people. During a press briefing, the Secretary General stated that this year’s goal for the catering budget is not to exceed the P2.3 million budget during last year’s SONA.
