Nonito Donaire Jr. Eyes Possible Title Crack Against WBA Champion Scott Quigg

The fighting pride from the Philippines, Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire Jr., is now eyeing for a possible title crack against the reigning World Boxing Association champion Scott Quigg of Britain after his remarkable performance during his fight with Frenchman Anthony Settoul.

The 32-year-old Nonito Donaire Jr. stopped the Frenchman in the second round of their 10-round nontitle fight on Saturday night at Cotai Arena of the Venetian Macau.

The former Fighter of the Year in 2012, Nonito Donaire called out on Scott Quigg who also scored a knockout against Kiko Martinez in the second round of their Super Bantamweight title showdown at Manchester Arena in England.

Nonito Donaire will try to capture another world boxing title after his humiliating defeat against Cuban Guillermo Rigondeaux and was knocked out by Jamaican Nicholas Walters last year.

When the Filipino boxing champion was asked about his next plan after the lopsided TKO win over Settoul, Donaire answered that he would seek a fresh crack at a super bantamweight title.

The four-division world champion was quoted as saying “I will fight the biggest guy, the fastest guy, the strongest guy (out there).” Due to Nonito Donaire’s victory against Settoul, he improved his record to 35-3-0 with 23 knockouts while Settoul slid to 20-4-0.
