The adopted daughter of Fernando Poe Jr. and Susan Roces, Senator Grace Poe is now considered as the leading potential presidential candidate according to the latest results released by the Pulse Asia survey. According to the latest results from Pulse Asia, the May 30 to June 5 survey revealed that the Senator got 30% of the respondents who would vote for Poe if elections were held at the time of the survey.
Sen. Grace Poe’s percentage point is is 16% higher compared to the last Pulse Asia survey conducted last March wherein she just get 14%. Aside from being the leading presidential candidate, the senator is also the leading contender in the Vice-Presidential race with 41% of voters saying they would vote for her.
The former leader for the Presidential survey results, Vice President Jejomar Binay, who dominated the past surveys is now ranked second behind Sen. Grace Poe, with 22% of the respondents saying they would vote for him if elections were held at the time of the survey.
Vice President Jejomar Binay’s rating has dropped seven percentage points from the 28 percent he got in the last Pulse Asia survey results.
The popular and most controversial candidate, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte came in third with 15 percent while Interior Secretary Mar Roxas and Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada were tied at fourth with 10 percent.
The other potential candidates for the 2016 elections include Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago (6%), Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano (2%) and former PNP Chief and Senator Panfilo Lacson with 2%.
