The fourth movie of the Jurassic film series, “Jurassic World” became the highest global opener of all time with a staggering $511.8 million in its first days in theaters. According to Rentrak media-measurement company, the movie devoured a number of domestic box office records with $204.6 million in the United States.
The movie also sets the record of the year 2015 and is now considered as the second-highest domestic opening of all time, right behind “Marvel’s The Avengers” which took in $207.4 million in 2012.
For more than 14 years no “Jurassic” film were released in theaters, the combination of cinematic grandeur, nostalgia and awareness helped “Jurassic World” far surpass analyst predictions of $125 million opening box office income.
“Jurassic World” is under Universal Pictures and Legendary, which was rated PG-13 worldwide. Based upon the exit polls conducted for the movie, 39% of those who watch were under the age of 25, which signifies massive interest of both a new generation and the continued enthusiasm of those who saw “Jurassic Park” in 1993.
The movie featuring “Guardians of the Galaxy” star Chris Patt and Bryce Dallas Howard is directed by Colin Trevorrow and executive-produced by Steven Spielberg
