Philippine Azkals to Face Yemen at Qatar for the 2018 FIFA WCQ

After the huge victory of the Philippine Azkals against the Middle Eastern powerhouse Bahrain, the Azkals will face another challenge against another Middle Eastern powerhouse, Yemen this coming June 16, 2015 at the Qatar Sports Stadium. Due to the security concerns in Qatar, the Yemeni football association convinced Qatar to host all their home game in the FIFA World Cup Qualifier.

The Azkals made an early departure for Qatar for acclimatization purpose and to hold a training camp in preparation for the second qualifying game of the Philippines. The Azkals vs. Yemen game is the first away match of the Philippine team in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

On June 12, 2015, the Azkals left for Doha, Qatar, just a day after kicking off their Group H bid with a home game against Bahrain wherein they secured their first three points through a 2-1 victory at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bocaue, Bulacan.

The Philippine Football Federation also revealed that they are also setting up arrangements for the Azkals next two assignments on the road. The Philippines is scheduled to travel to North Korea for an away game hosted by the Koreans at the Kim Il-Sung Stadium in Pyongyang this coming October 8.

The Azkals will also face the Bahrain national football team in their return match at the Bahrain National Stadium on October 13, 2015. The fourth opponents of the Azkals is team Uzbekistan which the team will host at the Philippine Sports Stadium on September 8, 2015.
