Viral Video: Fil-Am Group “Filharmonic” Performed in “Pitch Perfect 2”

The widely popular Universal Pictures “Pitch Perfect 2” featured the performance of the Filipino-American boy band, Filharmonic. The video which was first published last month already went viral on YouTube. The Filharmonic boy band stars in the Film as Team Philippines, one of the international singing group.

The Fil-Am boy band was formed in 2013 after friendly chance encounters in various singing competitions in the United States. The group composed of vocalist VJ Rosales, Joe Caigoy, Trace Gaynor, Barry Fortgang, beatboxer Niko Del Rey, and vocal bass Jules Cruz already competed in the NBC’s hit musical contest “The Sing Off.”

The Filharmonic made it to the competition’s semi-finals which opens doors for the group to work with international singers Black Eyed Peas, Pentatonix, and Linkin Park during the “The Sing Off,” nationwide tours.

The Fil-Am boy band came from a wide array of backgrounds in the performing arts field including a cappella, pop, classical, theatre, jazz, and opera, the Los Angeles-based boy band channels “urbanesque hip-hop sound with ’90s nostalgia”

The Filharmonic which is based in Los Angeles, California, is a band unique in their musical talent and cultural diversity.
