Saudi Arabia Builds Abraj Kudai the World’s Largest Luxury Hotel

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, one of the world’s weathiest nation, builds the world’s largest luxury hotel which is set to open in Mecca in the year 2017. The Abraj Kudai has a total site area of approximately 60,000 square meters which will contain a bus station, food courts, a shopping mall, conference cener and an extravagant ballroom.

The world’s largest luxury hotel feautres 10,000 bedrooms, 70 restaurants, four helipads and five floors for the sole use of Saudi Royal family. The luxurious complex is modeled on a “traditional desert fortress,” which will house 12 towers atop a 10-story podium.

According to reports, the hotel amounting to $3.5 billion is funded by the Saudi Ministry of Finance and designed by the Dar Al-Handasah group. Work has already begun on the Abraj Kudai, which is located just two kilometers away from the Holy City of Mecca, which receives more than 15 milion pilgrims in a year.

Based upon the description of the world’s largest luxury hotel they stated: “With a total site area of approximately 60,000 m² and total built-up area of around 1.4 million m², the project is a residential and commercial complex that consists of a large podium topped by 12 towers accommodating several elements such as a podium housing a bus station, a shopping mall, restaurants and food courts, a convention center and car parks.”
