The highest-grossing local movie for the month of April titled “You’re My Boss” earned a whopping P200 million after only three weeks in nationwide showings as reported by Toni Gonzaga, one of the main stars in the movie. Despite the competition against “Fast and Furious 7” which now ranked as one of the 10 highest grossing films worldwide, the local movie got the support from Filipino moviegoers.
According to Toni Gonzaga’s latet post on Instagram the movie “You’re My Boss” raked in an impressive P200 million and thanked those who supported the movie with Coco Martin.
The Antoinette Jadaone film is competing against some of Hollywood’s most popular movies including the top-grossing “Furious 7” movie. On her Instagram post, Toni Gonzaga was quoted as saying “We didn’t have a chance,” Gonzaga said of opening against the Vin Diesel-starrer. “But nothing is impossible with God! Sa lahat ng tumangkilik and naging option panoorin ang aming pelikula, maraming, maraming salamat po.”
The 30-year-old singer actress Toni Gonzaga also revealed during an interview with “Aquino & Abunda Tonigth” that typical screenings at malls devote two to three cinemas for “Furious 7,” while the movie from Star Cinema “You’re My Boos” is only available in one cinema screenings.
The movie marked the first team-up of Toni Gonzaga and Coco Martin which tells the story of a lowly assistant and his domineering boss as they are forced to switch roles for a client.
