The Bar Examinations 2015 will be Held at the University of Sto. Tomas (UST)

The Supreme Court of the Philippines (SC) announced that the next Bar Examinations for the year 2015 will be held again at the University of Sto. Tomas as the Supreme Court has given the green light on the negotiation between its Office of the Bar Confidant (OBC) and the pontifical University.

According to a resolution, the Supreme Court said that they approved the negotiation for the use of the UST’s campus and facilities in España, Manila for the 2015 Bar Exams slated on the four Sundays of November 8, 15, 22, and 29.

The Bar Examination in the University of Sto. Tomas will be the fifth year for the pontifical university to sere as venue for the country’s most difficult examination, the Bar Exam which will put any passers as an eligible members of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and will served as an official lawyer in the country.

During the past examinations, the Supreme Court chose the De La Salle University in Taft Avenue as the venue for the Bar exam, but an alleged fraternity-related bombing on September 26, 2010 Bar exam fueled the decision of the high court to transfer the Bar exam venue. During the incident that happened at De La Salle, a total of 47 persons were injured while waiting for the Bar examinees exiting the campus.

Aside from the announcement of the 2015 Bar Exam venue, the Supreme Court also announced that the submission of application for the Bar Exam with the OBC will begin on June 15 and shall end on July 31. The chairperson of the SC 2015 Bar Examinations Committee is Associate Justice Teresita Leonardo-De Castro.
