Veteran singer and actress Sharon Cuneta shocked the entertainment business industry when she decided to end her lucrative contract with TV5 and returned what she considers her “only home.” Sharon Cuneta left AB-CBN more than three years ago when she transferred to the country’s no. 3 network, the Kapatid Channel but on Monday she signed a contract with ABS-CBN Kapamilya Network.
According to the 49-year-old Sharon Cuneta she don’t belong anywhere else aside from ABS-CBN after she was welcomed back by ABS-CBN executives on Monday during her contract signing with the Kapamilya Channel.
Sharon Cuneta was quoted as saying “There are no words to describe how happy I am. It’s overwhelmingly wonderful. Alam mo ‘yung pagpasok mo pa lang, ‘Hay nakauwi na rin.’ Parang nagbakasyon lang. Pag-uwi, walang nagbago sa pagtingin ng mga kapamilya mo,” she said.
The veteran actress, singer and TV-host noted that she was like a “fish out of water” when she left her mother station ABS-CBN. She admitted that it was very touching that the ABS-CBN boses, with whom she had several secret meetings did not even ask her a single question when she expressed her desire to come back to ABS-CBN.
