The top vote getter of the 2015 PBA All-Star Game will not play in the highly anticipated PBA All Star Game this coming Sunday featuring the North and South All Stars as the reigning PBA MVP suffered an injury. June Mar Fajardo was the top choice to play in the All Star Game after getting 38,107 votes that earned him a starting spot this year.
The 25-year-old June Mar Fajardo will be missing the PBA festivities in Puerto Princesa, Palawan as per doctor’s order to take a rest. The confirmation of Fajardo’s absence in the All Star Game was confirmed by San Miguel Beermen head coach Leo Austria who also coached the North All Stars in the PBA All Star Game.
June Mar Fajardo twisted his left ankle during the San Miguel’s 102-91 victory over the Barako Bull Energy last Tuesday which put the Gilas Pilipinas mainstay playing only with just below eight minutes during the game.
According to the head coach of the San Miguel Beermen, Leo Austria, the 6-foot-10 June Mar Fajardo had his injury checked and was advised by his doctor “not to travel by air” to avoid further swelling on his ankle. That’s the main reason why June Mar Fajardo will not see action in the highly anticipated All Star Game.
Coach Leo Austria also noted further that Fajardo deserved to have a good rest since Gilas he really hasn’t had any rest and it is very important for the Cebuano cager to recover as soon as possible.
