Hollywood actor Harrison Ford was seriously injured in a small plane crashed on Thursday (US Time) when his vintage plane experienced trouble on a Los Angeles golf course shortly after taking off from a local airport. According to TMZ, Harrison Ford suffered multiple gashes on his head.
In a news report posted by entertainment website TMZ, the 72-year-old Harrison Ford injured his head in the crash just over a mile (1.6km) from Santa Monica Airport and was taken to a nearby hospital for immediate treatment.
The “Star Wars” actor involvement in a plane crashed was reportedly happened at around 2:25 PM (US Time). The crash was due to mechanical failure of the plane, the main caused of the accident as revealed by LA Police Department spokeswoman officer Nuria Vanegas.
According to Los Angeles Fire Chief Patrick Butler who rushed to the scene, the plane clipped a tree as it plunged down on the golf course. He also added that lone occupant of the plane was conscious and breathing following the accident and was initially tended to by bystanders.
The paramedics who responded to the scene transported Harrison Ford to a local hospital and stated that the victim was in “fair to moderate” condition as they conducted all the necessary medical protocols during the incident.
The representatives of Henry Ford who is also best known for his archaeological adventurer Indiana Jones in the Hollywood movie, could not be reached for comment as of press time.
