Filipino-Chinese residents in the Philippines particularly in Metro Manila celebrated the Chinese New Year of 2015 starting at around 12:00 AM today, February 19, 2015. Due to the celebration of the Chinese New Year in Metro Manila, the Manila Police District (MPD) released a traffic advisory in anticipation of the Chinese New Year celebration in Binondo, Manila.
According to MPD the stretch of Quintin Paredes from Escolta to Plaza Ruiz would be closed to traffic starting 12:30 PM. All vehicles coming Jones Bridge to Binondo via Quintin Paredes should turn right to Escolta and go straight to Plaza Sta. Cruz to their point of destination.
At around 5:00 PM today, the stretch of Retiro from Dimasalang circle to Blumentritt extension would be closed to traffic.
The advisory noted that all vehicles coming from Dimasalang Bridge intending to use the stretch of Retiro should turn right to Makiling or go straight to Dimasalang towards North Cemetery to point of destination.
All vehicles coming from Aurora Boulevard intending to use the stretch of Retiro should go straight to Maceda then turn left to Makiling or left to Dimasalang towards North Cemetery going to point of destination.
