The Voice Kids Philippines finalist Darren Espanto made a huge achievement in the music industry as his self-titled debut album hits gold-record status, considered a big feat for the 13-year-old singer. Darren Espanto was born and raised in Canada noted that he is glad that his career in the Philippines is taking off since it has always been his dream to become a performer.

Although Darren Espanto considered himself successful in the music industry he admits that success came with a price. He was quoted as saying “Nakakagala pa po sila pero ako po hindi na po pwede,” he said about boys his age. “Kapag nag-a-abroad lang po [ako nakakaikot sa mga malls] pero kahit sa abroad po, napapansin ako kasi madami na rin ang mga Pilipino sa abroad.” Espanto stated.
The Voice Kids finalist Darren Espanto also noted that he is grateful that he can now help his family financially. The 13-year-old Darren Espanto also noted that income in various gigs will be directed to his own bank account.
Right now Darren admitted he was able to buy a van for himself aside from the necessities he brought especially for his family. Darren Espanto also noted during the interview that he had a crush with Maria Cassandra Villaroel, the daughter of Carmina Villaroel.
Darren Espanto also stated that as long as his supporters want him to perform, Espanto vowed to do his best and sing for his fans.
