Michael Buble Admits Filipinos Discovered Him as a Singer

Canadian singer admitted during an interview on his recent visit to the Philippines that his Filipino fans discovered him as an artist. He credited the Filipinos as the one who kicked off his success. For Michael Buble, the Filipino fans were instrumental on his singing career.

During an exclusive interview with Kris Aquino on “Aquino & Abunda Tonight” Michael Buble revealed that he kept on coming back to the Philippines to do shows and press tours as it was the Filipinos who first appreciated his music.

The 39-year-old Michael Buble was quoted as saying “This is the first place I had success. This is the first place that I was famous. You guys pretty much discovered me. You were the first people,” he said.

Michael Buble first visited the Philippines in 2003 as part of his tour to promote his self-titled debut album and he was really surprised with the big welcome, prompting the need to have bodyguards for the first time in his life while in the country.

The Canadian singer will be having a concert in the country to be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday night, January 31, 2015. He also brought along with his wife, Argentine actress Luisana Lopilato, and their little son, Noah, for the Philippine leg of his 2015 tour.
